Una mattina tra le sculture…
A morning among the sculptures… A new perspective to practise your Italian speaking and listening skills!
Join us for this 1.5 hour Italian WALKshop, where we will spend the morning in the Sculpture Park of the Heide Museum of Modern Art. As we wander through the gardens and stop to view the sculptures, you will be encouraged to try to use Italian to describe what you see - the shapes, the colours and materials used, and the natural surrounds.
This ‘walking workshop’ is intended to be a fun and active language learning experience in a real-life context, where the artworks and environment serve as prompts to talk about and describe different things in Italian that you might not usually cover in your regular learning space. You will be provided with some printed materials on useful vocabulary and phrases for the session to help you get started and the WALKshop hosts will be there to support you along the way.
This small group session is best suited for those with beginner to intermediate-level Italian. (If you are a more advanced speaker/learner and are looking for opportunities like this, please get in touch with us - we have other sessions in mind for those whose skills are more advanced!)
The WALKshop will be led by Monica from Su Misura Italy, an experienced Italian tutor and native speaker, supported by Rebecca from Irregular Endings.
When: Saturday 26th January, 10.15am-12pm (10.15am arrival for a 10.30am start)
Where: Heide Museum of Modern Art Sculpture Park – 7 Templestowe Road, Bulleen. Meet at the main entrance, between the gallery and the café, right near the artwork pictured in the image above (Emily Floyd, Abstract Labour, 2014).
Tickets: $40 per person (includes 1.5 hour experience to practise Italian at the Heide Museum of Modern Art led by Monica from Su Misura Italy and printed WALKshop materials on useful vocabulary for the session)
