Facciamo la spesa al mercato!
Take a basket and some bags… What would you like to buy at the market if you were getting your groceries for the next few days?
In this 1.5 hour Italian WALKshop, we will walk through the South Melbourne Market and its fantastic array of fresh produce, meat, fish, deli and other food traders. As we make our way around the market together, you will be encouraged to try to use Italian to describe what you can see, the different kinds of food and produce available, and how to speak with vendors in a market situation.
This ‘walking workshop’ is intended to be a fun, active and social language learning experience in a real-life context, where the market and its lively environment serve as prompts to talk about and describe different things in Italian that you might not usually cover in your regular learning space. You will be provided with some printed materials on useful vocabulary and phrases for the session to help you get started and the WALKshop hosts will be there to support you along the way.
This small group session is best suited for those with intermediate to advanced-level Italian.
The WALKshop will be led by Monica from Su Misura Italy, an experienced Italian tutor and native speaker, supported by Rebecca from Irregular Endings.
When: Saturday 6th April, 9.00am-10.30am
